In case you were wondering it's 2018 and we don’t have flying cars. But they tell me they have auctions that the auctioneer doesn’t talk. I find that insane but I guess it works for some people. They tell me that’s what the world is coming to… like “my generation” I’d have to disagree. My generation grew up wanting excitement, fun… & free entertainment. To me, that sounds like an auction! Let’s face it, the low man on the totem pole generation that’s TRYING to be adults there the ones who always get blamed for EVERYTHING in society. Think about this – out of an auction school class how many are my generation and how many are yours… think about it!
Here we are 2018 saying the industry is dying BUT I think you're just thinking about it the wrong way. Think about it in a different perspective if YOUR generation is going to auction school in 2018. In 5-25 years my generation will be your age going to auction school. I’m the acceptation to the rule; the rule where everyone knows what they want to be when they grow up. News flash... It’s the older ages of life that decides what they want to be when they grow up. RIGHT? People like me, a second generation auctioneer I knew because I grew up in it. People like my Dad knew because he went to auctions growing up. It's all about how you're raised. In today's world, the mindset we give the younger generation is "You can be anything you want" So just wait.. there will be more auctioneers (& AAM members). Wait until Bobby Joe finishes college & tries to be an astronaut. Meanwhile, he goes to an auction and finds his career that he won't try until he's done trying every other job out there. *JVC
